ECG Productions is finishing filming a documentary about the tour of the outstanding opera singer Fyodor Chaliapin (1873-1938) in Canada. Chaliapin visited our country 8 times in total! The first time he performed in Canada in 1921 and his last performance in Canada happened in 1935. The great artist performed in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec and Winnipeg. Our team managed to find the traces and evidence of the artist’s presence in North America. We worked in the archives of Toronto, Moscow and St. Petersburg, met with collectors, experts and musicologists. The documentary is currently undergoing a post-production stage and we plan to have it released in Spring 2023.
