Diwali, Deepavali, or Divali, also known as the Festival of Lights is a Hindu religious festival and one of the most important festivals within Hinduism. Diwali is known for the brightly burning clay lamps that people put outside their homes, tasty food, gifts and of course rangoli. Rangoli is a form of art when whimsical patterns are created on the floor or a tabletop using materials such as powdered limestone, red ochre, dry rice flour, coloured sand, quartz powder, flower petals, and coloured rocks. It is believed that evil spirits won’t harm your home by being entangled in a beautiful rangoli pattern.
