The idea to continue working with Lydia Boyko in the role of Iraida Borisevich, another character from the book «58th. Unseized», came when we were finishing the story of Irina Kalina.
The book features the stories of those who suffered in the camps and those who guarded them. That’s why we came up with the idea to have actors work on both roles, showing the system from both sides.
Irina Kalina endured the GULAG as a prisoner. Iraida Borisevich was a camp guard. But the repressive system destroyed both.
