 From Violence to Violins: More Than a Film, a Movement for Change 
As filming continues on our new documentary From Violence to Violins, we want to take a moment to share more about the heart of this story — The Hammer Band.
Founded by renowned violinist Moshe Hammer, The Hammer Band @thehammerband brings free music education and instruments to children in at-risk communities across Toronto. What began with just 30 students has grown into a transformative force, reaching over 1,500 students annually across 50+ schools.
It’s not just about teaching music — it’s about building confidence, fostering empathy, and offering a peaceful alternative to the violence many of these children face. 
We are proud to announce that this emotionally complex and artistically rich project is being directed by our talented colleague Irina Volkova @latifaira, whose vision and sensitivity are perfectly suited to bring this story to life. We wish her and all our dedicated team members the very best as the journey continues!
