Our film crew continues to work on the documentary “Taiko – the Music of the Strong” that tells about the famous taiko drummer from Toronto Kiyoshi Nagata, and also raises the difficult topic of Internment camps, where 22,000 Japanese Canadians were forcibly exiled during the Second World War. At the end of June, the ECG Productions film crew together with Kiyoshi went to British Columbia, to the city of New Denver, where the Internment camp was once located and today there is a museum.
We managed to film an interview with a local resident who ended up in one of these camps as a child and captured a unique museum exposition. The documentary is scheduled for release at the end of 2023. Stay tuned!
