Venturing to the quaint city of Rawdon, just an hour and a half’s drive from Montreal, our film crew embarked on a poignant journey. Here, within the serene confines of the Orthodox cemetery, rests the revered protagonist of our narrative, Ludmilla Chiriaeff, alongside her mother, first husband, the esteemed artist Alexey Chiriaeff, and her youngest son, Gleb. Adjacent to the cemetery, within the cultural center’s courtyard, stands a graceful monument in honor of Ludmilla Chiriaeff’s enduring legacy. Crafted by the skilled hands of sculptor Vitaly Gambarov and his wife Nina Galitskaya, alongside the visionary Arnold Rozhinsky who spearheaded its installation, this monument serves as a timeless tribute. Their presence in Rawdon was marked by a poignant interview and a heartfelt gesture as they adorned the base of the monument with freshly planted flowers, symbolizing a continued reverence for Chiriaeff’s contributions to the arts.
