📽️ Exciting Progress on “The Electric City: Nikola Tesla in Canada”! ⚡

We are thrilled to announce that over the past two weeks, our team members have made significant strides in filming the project “The Electric City: Nikola Tesla in Canada,” under the expert guidance of the acclaimed documentary film producer Felix Golubev (@golubev.felix).

On July 12, the first shoot began at 6 am. Our team was fortunate to receive permission to film in a unique museum housed in one of the first hydroelectric power stations in Niagara, constructed with Tesla’s technology at the beginning of the twentieth century. Filming concluded at 10 am, just as the museum opened to visitors.

We had the rare opportunity to capture the operation of a giant Tesla coil, explore a vast tunnel on the -6th floor, and exit through it to the very foot of the waterfall.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Sarah Wood, Senior Manager of Niagara Park Commissions, and Mr. Veroslav Djurdjevic, President of the Nikola Tesla Educational Corporation, for their invaluable help and support.

Dream Big

Among many documentary projects that ECG Productions releases each year one stands out in particular. It took the team 3 full years to complete Dream Big but hard work paid off. Each episode is dedicated to a true story told by an immigrant woman living in Canada. Their stories are about struggles and victories, joys and sorrows and, of course, true love. Some episodes have been highly acclaimed by viewers and the professional community and have won awards at prestigious international festivals. Today we would like to bring to your attention 2 episodes that won’t leave you indifferent. The first episode is dedicated to the fate of Gila, who immigrated to Canada from Israel and the second tells an inspiring story of a Toronto entrepreneur Lucia who came from Italy.

Mama Canada, Season Two

In 2019, we began filming Mama Canada, a puppet show for pre-school children (2-6 years old). There are 18 episodes in total where each episode tells a story about an important and interesting fact about Canadian history, geography, science, culture, sport, celebrations and traditions. In Season Two, along with the already known characters – Alex, Nastya, Professor and Parsley you will meet with Aunt Peggy, Zhuzha the Bee and Robot Multi. We cannot wait to show you what they will look like but this is a big secret now! Check our Blog regularly for updates and announcements. The first episode is scheduled for release in Summer 2022.

On the Waves of Ukrainian Music

In 2019, ECG Productions began filming a new project called On the Waves of Ukrainian Music, dedicated to the crème de la crème of the Ukrainian musical culture. Initially, we were planning to organize and film a big concert where all the stars of Ukrainian music residing in Toronto would perform, but a pandemic intervened in our plans. The concert halls got closed, a lockdown was announced and we had to come up with plan B. The film Director Olena Tumanska found a way out of a seemingly hopeless situation. In a rare moment when the lockdown restrictions were lifted in Toronto, Olena invited the artists to perform in the open air. Surprisingly enough, this made the film even brighter, more dynamic and more interesting to watch. We filmed on the shores of Lake Ontario, in a golf club that was closed for a day for the ECG Productions crew and at a few busy Toronto intersections and in many, many other locations. Thanks to our skillful cameramen, the professionalism of decorators, and the talent of the artists, we were able to capture the spirit of Ukrainian music without leaving Ontario. The premiere screening of this unique film-concert will take place in Spring, 2022 and, no doubt will become the event of the year for the entire Ukrainian community in North America.
