Earlier this April, our passionate team—Maxim Kravchinsky, Anatoliy Mateshko, and Artem Borodin—spent two unforgettable days bringing history to life. One filming day was dedicated entirely to recreating two key meetings between the legendary writer Sergey Dovlatov and his Canadian impresario, set in 1986 and 1989.
With precision and creativity, the team used authentic period artifacts to immerse the audience in the spirit of the 1980s. Every detail—each gesture, each object—was chosen to evoke the atmosphere of Dovlatov’s Canadian visits. From airport terminals to the serene shores of Lake Ontario, the camera captured more than scenes—it captured time.
