This past April marked a major milestone in the journey of Dovlatov: The Unknown Pages. On April 25th, our incredible team—Maxim Kravchinsky, Anatoliy Mateshko, and Artem Borodin —successfully recorded two deeply moving interviews with longtime members of Toronto’s émigré community: Lena Svetlitsa and Sonia Krass.
The process of arranging these interviews could be a documentary in itself. Gaining the trust of these remarkable women—both already in their senior years—required incredible care, patience, and empathy. But the reward was priceless: two heartfelt, vivid recollections of personal encounters with Sergey Dovlatov, now preserved on film.
Their testimonies are more than memories—they’re bridges, connecting the historical and emotional threads of our story. With their voices, the past speaks again.
