This weekend, we were filming for the documentary Code 450 -a project that follows the story of a Canadian-Ukrainian woman who volunteered as a medic and journalist on the frontlines in Ukraine.
While capturing her journey, we had the chance to witness a special moment: the premiere of her music project Daughters of Donbas at the Scarborough Folk Fest.
After 11 years of waiting and a year of silence filled with frontline work and volunteer efforts, she finally performed five original songs written during the war.
It was raw, honest, and deeply moving. We’re honoured to be documenting her story.
